Editorial Policy – How We Write & Review – OmegleSluts
Editorial Policy
How we research, write, and verify everything you read here.
If you're going to take advice from us about a service that involves your camera, your privacy, and total strangers — you deserve to know how we work. This page is the short version of our internal handbook. No spin.
01 Who writes here
Every article on OmegleSluts is written by a named human being on our team. You can see the full lineup, with bios, on our team page. We don't publish anonymous articles unless the author has a legitimate safety reason (and even then, we vouch for them internally).
Our writers come from three backgrounds: hands-on testers who actually use the platforms they review, industry insiders (former trust & safety, former camsite staff, current creators), and tech/cybersecurity writers who cover the privacy angle. No one on the team writes outside their lane without explicit editor approval.
02 How we research
For every review, comparison or guide, we follow the same rough process:
- Author personally uses the platform for a documented number of hours (we publish the count in every review).
- Independent second pass by another writer or editor to confirm reproducible behaviour.
- Cross-check claims against primary sources — official policies, press releases, regulator filings, court documents — before stating them as fact.
- Quote real users (with consent) where possible; never invent or composite users.
- Document the exact date and version of the platform tested. UIs change weekly.
The full step-by-step is on our Methodology page.
03 How we write
We try to write like an actual person talking to another actual person.
✓ What we do
- Short paragraphs, contractions, occasional bad jokes
- Disclose affiliate links inline, above the fold
- Mark "Sponsored" at the top when sponsored
- Admit when we don't know something
- Use real names, real numbers, real quotes
✕ What we don't do
- Keyword stuffing or SEO bingo
- "Ultimate guide" titles for 500-word posts
- Fake urgency, scarcity, or testimonials
- Pretend AI-generated text is human
- Hide sponsored content as editorial
04 AI policy
We do not publish AI-generated articles. Period. We use AI internally for utility tasks — spell-checking, summarising research notes, generating outline drafts that a human then completely rewrites — but every word you read on the public site has been written, edited and approved by a named human.
Some illustrations and decorative images on the site are AI-assisted. Those are marked in the image metadata. Photographs of real people, when used, are licensed or original.
05 Fact-checking
Every claim about a number, date, law, or platform feature is fact-checked against a primary source before publication. Statistics get a citation or they don't appear. Quotes get verified against the original. If we make a mistake, we own it — see our Fact-Checking Policy for the full process, and our Corrections log for the receipts.
06 Reviews & affiliate disclosure
We earn money in three ways: display ads, affiliate commissions when readers sign up to platforms we recommend, and direct partnerships. Here's how we keep that honest:
Editorial wall
The writer doesn't know if a platform has an affiliate deal with us before they write the review. Period.
Bad reviews stay
If we test a partner platform and it's bad, we say so. Several active deals have been terminated this way.
Links are marked
Every affiliate link carries a visible affiliate tag.
Sponsored = labelled
Sponsored articles are tagged Sponsored at the very top. Always.
07 Updates & freshness
We re-test our top reviews every 6 months and update them. The "Last updated" date at the bottom of every article reflects the most recent meaningful re-check (typo fixes don't count). If a platform shuts down or changes drastically, we update or archive the article within 7 days.
08 User-generated content
We host comments on some posts. Comments are pre-moderated for spam and abuse, but we don't edit them for opinion. If a comment contains misinformation that a casual reader might take as fact, an editor adds a public reply with the correction rather than silently editing.
09 Independence
OmegleSluts LLC owns this site. No platform we review has any ownership stake or editorial influence. We've turned down two acquisition offers from companies in the niche so far. We mention this not to brag — to disclose it.
